Feeding Therapy

Feeding therapy for children is a specialized service designed to help kids who have difficulty eating, trying new foods, or maintaining a balanced diet. These challenges may include extreme picky eating, sensory sensitivities to textures or smells, difficulty chewing or swallowing, limited food variety, or mealtime behaviors that cause stress for the child and family. Feeding therapy is typically provided by trained clinicians who work closely with the child to build safe, positive, and developmentally appropriate eating skills while respecting each child’s unique needs.

Through play-based and evidence-based strategies, feeding therapy focuses on increasing comfort with foods, improving oral-motor skills, expanding food choices, and reducing mealtime stress. Sessions are tailored to the child’s goals and may involve caregiver coaching so families can support progress at home. The ultimate goal of feeding therapy is to help children develop a healthier relationship with food, improve nutrition, and make mealtimes more enjoyable for the entire family.

This service is not currently covered by insurance and is $125 a session via private pay.

Participants practice skills through guided discussions, role-playing, and interactive activities, with opportunities for feedback and reflection.

This group is ideal for young adults 17+ and occurs on Tuesdays from 1 PM - 3PM at our Doral location. This service is covered by insurance and would be $160 for the first session and $120 for following sessions via private pay.

In-School Observations

In-school observations are a service provided by a therapist to better understand a child’s behavior, social interactions, emotional regulation, and learning needs within the school setting. During a one-hour observation, the therapist discreetly observes the child in their natural environment—such as the classroom, playground, or during transitions—without disrupting instruction. This allows the therapist to gain valuable insight into how the child responds to academic demands, peers, and classroom routines.

The information gathered is used to identify strengths, challenges, and patterns that may not be fully apparent in clinical sessions alone. These observations help guide treatment goals and recommendations to support the child across settings.

In-school observations are offered at a private pay rate of $150 per hour.
